The African Development Bank is organizing a consultation mission for its administrators from February 17 to 21 in Dakar, the capital of Senegal.
This mission aims, on the one hand, to strengthen cooperation between the Bank and the Government of Senegal and, on the other hand, to assess the portfolio and commitments of the Bank in the country and note, on the ground, the status of various projects it funds.
A meeting is planned with the Minister of Economy, Planning and Cooperation, Amadou Hott, Governor of the Bank in Senegal, as well as with the Deputy Governor, Abdoulaye Daouda Diallo, Minister of Finance and Budget. Meetings are planned with the Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Equipment, Land Infrastructure and Access, Tourism and Air Transport, Community Development, Oil and Energy.
Bank administrators will visit AIBD International Airport and the achievements of the Sahel Resilience Building Project (P2RS) in the Fatick region.
The directors will also meet the Bank's development partners in Senegal, representatives of the private sector and of civil society. A press conference is planned at the end of this mission.
The African Development Bank, a Senegalese partner since 1972, has so far financed 114 operations for a cumulative amount of around 3.15 billion US dollars (FCFA 1,878 billion). The outstanding commitments amount to around $ 2 billion (CFA 1,187 billion) and are made up of public sector projects, private sector operations and a partial credit guarantee to cover exchange risk.
The media are invited to cover the different stages of the administrators' mission to Senegal.
